On Monday, March 10, 2014 the Mendocino College Foundation Board of Directors honored emeritus directors, trustees, and faculty during their annual luncheon.

“Every year the Foundation invites emeritus members of the Foundation and College boards and emeritus faculty to a luncheon as a way to keep them informed about what’s happening at the College and to simply say ‘thank you’ for their years of dedicated service to students and the College community,” stated Foundation President Richard Cooper.

This year guests were taken on a tour of the new Allied Health/Nursing Facility by Barbara French, Director of the Nursing Program. Sue Goff, Dean of Career and Technical Education Programs, shared information about new degrees and certificates that are currently in the process of being approved by the State of California Chancellor’s Office. Larry Perryman, Vice President of Administrative Services, provided an overview of the projects that were funded by Measure W Bond.

This year’s attendees were treated to a delicious lunch prepared by Professors’ Nicholas Petti and Julia Siderakis and their Culinary Arts Management students Jessica Henry, Sarah Smith, Ashley Boutiette, Cristela Gracia, Peggy Hoeble, Dehl Barnhart, Jimmy Mitchell, Paul Baughman and Erica Rodriquez. The menu featured buttermilk poached chicken, puffed wild rice, black spanish radish, asparagus, beet tartare, and a delectable flourless chocolate cake with a raspberry sauce.

Student speakers were Carol Geinger, a first year nursing student and the 2015 Nursing Class President, and Will Moody, a Mendocino College Foundation Academic Excellence Scholarship Recipient. Both students thanked the attendees for their support and stewardship of the Foundation’s endowment which provides over $160,000 annually in the form of student scholarships.

The luncheon was graciously underwritten by Foundation Board member and long-time local realtor Mr. Gary Nix.
